Fueled by the success of “Eyes Wide Shut” and “The Matrix,” Warner Bros. Distribution Japan will receive Japan’s Minister of Intl. Trade and Industry Award for best motion picture importer/distributor of the year in an April 21 ceremony in Tokyo.
“We are extremely proud of our marketing team,” said Warner Bros. Pictures Intl. president Edward Frumkes. “We are especially pleased that our efforts on behalf of these two exceptional films have been acknowledged by the entertainment and business community in Japan, one of the world’s most competitive markets.”
The Stanley Kubrick pic and the Keanu Reeves starrer both ranked among the top 10 grossing films in Japan last year.
