Tyro scribe's 'Robin Hood' retelling snags six figures

Warner Bros.-based Peters Entertainment has plunked down low-six against mid-six figures for tyro scribe Michael Tupy’s spec “Puck.”

Story is a retelling of the Robin Hood legend from the point of view of Robin Hood’s son, Puck, with a focus on the father-son relationship. Chris Peters and John Remark brought the project to Peters Entertainment exec veep Brian Manis.

Peters, who most recently produced “Wild Wild West” for Warners, is in preproduction on “Ali,” starring Will Smith, for Columbia Pictures. Peters is also developing an update of “A Star Is Born” to be directed by Oliver Stone as well as a revived “Superman” for Warners.

Tupy’s deal was brokered by manager Daniel Sladek and attorney Karl Austen at Armstrong, Hirsch, Jackoway, Tyerman and Wertheimer.
