Exec to continue special events

Universal Pictures has boosted Linda Pace-Alexander to vice president of special projects, up from her post as director.

She will continue to oversee the creation, planning and execution for all of the studio’s special events, including premieres, awards programs and film festivals. She will report to Hollace Davids, senior veep of special projects.

Pace-Alexander joined the company in 1990 as a special events coordinator. She has been involved with world premieres and special events for such films as “The Hurricane,” “Nutty Professor II: The Klumps,” “U-571,” “Erin Brockovich,” “The Mummy,” “Lost World: Jurassic Park,” “Liar Liar,” “The Nutty Professor,” “Babe,” “Casino” and “Schindler’s List.”

“I can’t think of anyone who deserves this recognition more than Linda,” said Edward Egan, U Pics exec veepee of marketing. “She has proven herself an invaluable member of the marketing team here at Universal time and time again, and I know that she will continue to do so.”

Prior to U, Pace-Alexander worked as a freelance writer and story analyst. She is a member of the Actors Studio Playwrights unit and the Dramatists Guild.
