Tyros’ spec ‘Saved’ by Single Cell

Coming-of-age laffer set in Christian school

In Single Cell’s first script buy since setting up its discretionary fund with Gotham-based digital entertainment company RSUB, principals Michael Stipe and Sandy Stern have optioned the spec “Saved” from tyro scribes Brian Dannelly and Michael Urban, with Dannelly attached to direct.

“Saved” is a darkly comic coming-of-age story set in a Christian high school.

Stipe and Stern will produce the pic with production/management shingle Symmetry. Script will go out to cast in the next month for a targeted February start.

Dannelly and Urban are repped by Joel Milner at Larchmont Literary, manager Brad Kaplan at Symmetry and attorney Carl Austen at Armstrong, Hirsch, Jackoway, Tyerman and Wertheimer.
