Dukakis to star in WWII story
Leslie LaPage, founder of production shingle Infinity Films, will mark her directorial debut with the war epic “Under the Apple Tree,” to be toplined by Olympia Dukakis.
Produced under the Infinity banner, pic will begin lensing in early 2001.
The story, which is set during the last six months of WWII, was spawned from an original story by LaPage. Screenplay was penned by Tom Stone, whose previous credits include Fox Family Channel’s “No Balls, Two Strikes.”
LaPage previously directed the film short “Generation of Lies,” a story of three estranged sisters brought back together over their dying mother. Short has been honored at the Chicago International Film Festival and the San Antonio International Film Festival, among others. Additionally, LaPage has directed more than 15 legit productions, among them “The Standing,” “The Swan Sings at Night,” and “Fences.”
LaPage and her company are repped by Marisa Johnston of MJM, and the law offices of Judith R. Karfoil. Dukakis was repped in the deal by Scott Henderson at WMA.
