The Walt Disney Co. has taken to the comedy pitch “Time’s Up” from scribes Sheryl Longin (“Dick”) and Roger L. Simon (“Enemies: A Love Story”) with Helen Hunt and Connie Tavel attached to produce through their Hunt/Tavel Prods. banner.
Disney exec Jason Reed and Buena Vista Motion Picture co-presidents Todd Garner and Nina Jacobson will oversee the project’s development for the Mouse House, with Dana Jackson, senior veep of development at Hunt/Tavel, serving as co-producer and shepherding on the producers’ side.
Story, developed in a pitch meeting along with Garner, is a character-driven comedy about two New York therapists who have an unexpected effect on each other.
Longin is adapting the book “An Underachiever’s Diary” for Outlaw Prods. and Warner Bros. Simon received an Academy Award nomination for “Enemies: A Love Story.” He has also penned such projects as “Scenes From a Mall” and “Bustin’ Loose.”
Simon and Longin are repped by Justin Silvera and Bruce Kaufman at The Broder Kurland Webb Uffner Agency; Hunt’s end of the pact was negotiated by Dennis Ardi.
Hunt/Tavel are repped by CAA.
