BERLIN — Germany’s StudioCanal Produktion and Danish outfit M & M Prods. are set to start shooting “Jolly Roger” in Copenhagen this month.
Danish helmer Lasse Spang Olsen (“In China They Eat Dogs”) is directing the kiddie fantasy/adventure tale about a young girl who joins her great-great-great-granddad, the pirate Jolly Roger, and an archangel on a journey to save the future from treacherous pirates.
Pic stars Kim Bodnia (“Nightwatch,” “In China…”) and 8-year-old newcomer Clara Halvorsen.
M & M chief Tivi Magnusson said the project is the beginning of a long-term partnership with StudioCanal.
“Jolly Roger” is scheduled to hit local screens in fall 2001.
StudioCanal Produktion is the German production arm of European film group StudioCanal.
