NEW YORK — Jim Tharp, head of DreamWorks theatrical distribution, and Terry Press, head of marketing for the studio, will be co-recipients of the 2000 Show “E” Award at this year’s ShowEast Convention. Award recognizes commitment to and achievements in enhancing the motion picture experience.
Tharp oversees the distribution of all DreamWorks pics and has supervised the release of “American Beauty,” “Gladiator,” “Chicken Run” and “What Lies Beneath,” among others.
As head of marketing, Press has overseen campaigns for DreamWorks’ “Gladiator,” “Chicken Run,” “What Lies Beneath,” “American Beauty,” “Saving Private Ryan,” “Antz” and “The Prince of Egypt.”
Press is the first female to receive the Show “E” Award.
Duo will be feted at the Gala Final Night Banquet and Award Ceremony Oct. 14. ShowEast 2000 takes place Oct. 11-14 at the Marriott Orlando World Center in Orlando, Fla.
