Charlie Sheen has signed on to star in the romantic comedy “Good Advice” for Emmett/Furla Films’ new production-financing banner, Family Room Entertainment.
Steve Rash (“Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Eddie”) will direct the picture, to be produced by Randall Emmett and George Furla of Emmett/Furla and Mark Burg and Oren Koules of Evolution Entertainment. Passion Films’ Michael Bolton will exec produce; Steve Fenton and Cal Walton serve as co-producers.
Written by Daniel Margosis and Robert Horn, “Good Advice” concerns an investment banker who loses everything and must rediscover what’s important in life.
The project will shoot this summer, before Sheen starts production on “Spin City” in early August.
Family Room is a publicly traded holding company controlled by Emmett/Furla and venture capitalist Peter Benz. Emmett/Furla’s most recent production was “Held for Ransom,” starring Dennis Hopper.
Credits for Evolution’s Burg and Koules include James Toback’s “Black and White,” which will be released by Screen Gems.
Sheen was repped by ICM and attorneys Steve Brookman and David Weber of Bloom, Hergott, Cook, Diemer & Klein. Attorney Rick Rosenthal of Grakal, Root & Rosenthal and M. Dal Walton III represented Family Room in the deal.
