German actor Til Schweiger has landed two roles: a co-starring part in Franchise Pictures’ Sylvester Stallone starrer “Champs,” to be directed by Renny Harlin, and a co-starring role in indie pic “Investigating Sex,” helmed by Alan Rudolph.
“Champs,” a car-racing pic, begins lensing in Vancouver in July. Schweiger will play a champion race car driver competing against the young racer that Stallone is brought in to coach. Producers are Harlin and Franchise topper Elie Samaha.
“Investigating Sex,” co-starring Nick Nolte, Robin Tunney and Neve Campbell, is a comedy-drama focusing on a group of men and two female stenographers scientifically studying sex. Lensing begins in Berlin in May, with Gemini Films, Nolte’s Kingsgate Films and Janus Films co-producing.
Schweiger co-directed and produced the German pic “Der Eisbar.” His L.A.-based Mr. Brown Entertainment finds and develops projects for Schweiger to star in, direct and produce. His English-language acting credits include “Judas Kiss” and “SLC Punk!” He is repped by CAA.
