Filmmaker Eric Schaeffer — whose multihyphen credits include 1996’s “If Lucy Fell” and 1997’s “Fall” — has re-teamed with producing partner Terence Michael of Michael/Finney Prods. for “Never Again,” an offbeat romantic comedy to star Jill Clayburgh and Jeffrey Tambor.
The pic centers around a man and woman, both in their mid-50s, who vow never to fall in love again, until a chance meeting in a gay bar changes everything. Schaeffer, who usually stars in his films, will stay behind the camera at the “Never Again” helm.
Also on board to produce with Schaeffer and Michael is Dawn Wolfrom, who was a script supervisor on “Fall” and co-produced Schaeffer’s last effort, 1999’s “Wirey Spindell.”
Tambor is repped by the Gersh Agency, Clayburgh by Brillstein-Gray Management.
Pic is slated to begin lensing in New York City on June 5.
