Revolution will be taking the ‘Tour’

Comical 'Raiders' to be written by 'Ubersheep' scribe

This article was corrected on Dec. 1, 2000.

Revolution Studios has closed deals for a pic called “Tour Guide,” from an original idea by Revolution principal Todd Garner, to be penned by Ron Anderson and directed by Daniel Stern (“Rookie of the Year”).

Pic will be produced by Evolution Entertainment’s Mark Burg, Oren Koules and Doug Draizin. Garner and newly hired exec Derek Dauchy will oversee the project for the studio.

Described as a comical “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Tour Guide” centers on a young man who poses as a tour guide and winds up ineptly leading a group of people through a jungle.

Anderson penned “Ubersheep,” which won him a unique writer-in-residence deal at Disney. He recently completed his contract at the Mouse House.

Stern is also an actor and stage director who recently appeared in the stage play “Dinner With Friends.”

Evolution is on board as producer of New Line’s “John Q.”

Revolution is run by partners Joe Roth, Rob Moore, Tom Sherak and Garner.
