Ally Sheedy will topline as the title character in “The Warden,” TNT’s pilot based on the British series “The Governor,” which starred Janet McTeer. Lynda La Plante (“Prime Suspect’), who penned the U.K. skein, will produce the American version. Sheedy also starred in helmer Adrienne Shelly’s “I’ll Take You There,” which won best director kudos at this year’s Aspen Comedy Festival.

Three-time Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Diane Ladd is set to star in the CBS telepic “Sharing the Secret” with Mare Winningham. Ladd will next be seen with Sandra Bullock in “28 Days” and in helmer Billy Bob Thornton’s “Daddy and Them.”

Elizabeth Mitchell, who co-stars with Dennis Quaid in New Line’s upcoming “Frequency,” will portray the title character in the CBS/Mandalay “Linda McCartney” biopic, airing in May. Also on board are Gary Bakewell, reprising his interpretation of Paul McCartney (see 1993’s “Backbeat”) and George Segal. Mitchell is repped by Paradigm and managed by Seven Summits.
