New Line crowns ‘Princess’

Jennifer and Suzanne Todd to produce project

New Line Cinema has closed a low-to-mid-six figure deal for “American Princess,” penned by Dennis Bartok and Tom Abrams.

Project will be produced by Jennifer and Suzanne Todd at New Line-based Team Todd.

New Line senior veep Donna Langley, along with prexy of New Line Prods. Michael De Luca, will oversee the pic; Jennifer Todd brought the project into these execs.

Set in the 1700s, female-driven fairy tale concerns a young English peasant who dreams of being a princess. When she is exiled to America following a petty crime, she becomes ensnared in the resistance against the crown and falls hard for a revolutionary leader.

Last year, Bartok sold “Jenny Hanniver” to producer Arnold Kopelson and Fox.

Bartok and Abrams are repped by Todd Hoffman at Broder Kurland Webb and Uffner and Matt Luber at Rubicon Entertainment along with attorney Brook Wharton.
