Michell, Par merge for ‘Lanes’ pic

Rudin-produced Taylor thriller gets the Tolkin treatment

Roger Michell (“Notting Hill”) has inked a deal to direct the thriller “Changing Lanes” for Paramount Pictures, with Scott Rudin on board to produce.

Original script was penned by Chap Taylor with the last rewrite done by Michael Tolkin (“The Player”).

Set in New York, story centers on a routine car accident on FDR drive that involves two men whose lives are radically changed because of it.

Michell’s “Notting Hill” effort grossed $116 million domestically and over $350 million worldwide. His feature credits also include “Persuasion.”

Taylor is repped by Chap Taylor at the William Morris Agency and manager Warren Zide at Zide/Perry Ent. Michell is repped by CAA and Duncan Heath at ICM’s U.K office.
