Zilotto script centers on lonely woman visited by angel
Robert Marcarelli, who helmed and produced last year’s standout “The Omega Code,” has teamed with Chris Dane Owens to produce the romantic comedy “Gabriel’s Gift.”
Marcarelli will direct the pic, budgeted in the $5 million-$7 million range, from a script penned by Nancy Zilotto. Owens and Zilotto conceived the story, which centers on a lonely woman who is sent a guardian angel in the form of a 5-year-old boy.
Owens, son of radio and television’s Gary Owens, recently produced the feature “Border to Border,” to be released by Independent Artists next summer.
Released by Providence Entertainment, “The Omega Code” grossed over $12.6 million domestically and survived in theaters for 22 weeks.
