William Mapother is multitasking: He has inked a deal with Tom Cruise’s Paramount-based C/W Prods. to rework an untitled comedy owned by the shingle and has joined the cast of the indie pic “In the Bedroom.”
The untitled project will be helmed by John Polson (who, like Mapother, acted in “Mission: Impossible 2”).
Currently shooting in Maine, “In the Bedroom” is being directed by Todd Field and produced by Gotham-based Good Machine and Greenstreet Films. Pic stars Marisa Tomei and includes Sissy Spacek and Nick Stahl.
Story centers on an estranged couple whose lives are disrupted when the wife becomes involved with a younger man.
Mapother, who is Cruise’s cousin, has acted in “Magnolia” and “Without Limits.” He played the lead in “Trickle,” a short that has played at numerous festivals and won short-film awards at the American Independent, Las Vegas and South Beach film festivals.
Mapother is repped by CAA.
