Paramount Pictures has taken to “Tag,” a pitch from scribe Eric Kmetz (“The Other Side of Simple”).
The deal is worth a low- to mid-six-figure sum. Neil Weinberger and David Faigenblum are attached to produce.
Described as a “North By Northwest” set in contemporary times, story revolves around an innocent man who finds himself caught in a world where people are trying to kill him and he must figure out why and how to get out.
Kmetz’s “Other Side of Simple” was sold to New Line last year, with production slated for a summer start.
Kmetz had been an assistant at Paramount Studios and is currently working on a rewrite assignment at Columbia Pictures.
The scribe’s deal was negotiated by his manager Bender-Spink, his agent Endeavor and attorney Rick Genow at Stone, Meyer & Genow.
Producers were repped by Armstrong, Hirsch, Jakoway, Tyerman and Wertheimer.
