Scribe Jeff King has been tapped to pen the adaptation of the Nelson DeMille thriller “The Lion’s Game” for Columbia Pictures.
“Lion’s” is the story of a gifted terrorist and the ATF agent who strives to halt the criminal’s methodical yet unpredictable bloodbath.
Mace Neufeld is producing “Lion’s” for Sony, with exec veep production Amy Baer overseeing the project. Neufeld produced the adaptation of DeMille’s “The General’s Daughter” for Paramount.
King is polishing the screenplay for MGM’s “Blood and Chocolate.” He also has three Fox projects now in development: “Tears of the Sun,” a big-budget action movie that was once positioned as the fourth installment in the studio’s “Die Hard” series; his penning of Fox’s “Flight of the Phoenix” remake; and the spec script “Josiah’s Cannon.”
