President Films sells rights
Japan’s Gaga has jumped on the “Caravan” bandwagon. Gallic sales and production house President Films, which is handling the Oscar nominated pic, said Japanese buyers concluded a deal after Friday’s screening.With increased interest in the film thanks to an Oscar nod, President is also fielding offers from the U.S., Latin America and Scandanavia. The Eric Valli-directed, Jacques Perrin-produced film was shot in Nepal in the Tibetan language and centers on the struggles of a hidden Himalayan village. “Caravan” has grossed over $10 million in France since its November release. President has also completed sales in Korea, Hong Kong, and the Czech Republic on the film.
