Moonstone to handle domestic distribution
Etchie Stroh’s Moonstone Entertainment will handle the domestic distribution of the Sundance Film Festival entry “Intern,” starring Dominique Swain, the first entry in a new long-term distribution arrangement between Moonstone and Tanya York’s York/Maverick Entertainment.
While Moonstone is pacting with York to handle video distribution, Moonstone will release “Intern” in a limited run at the Screening Room in Gotham this August.
“Intern,” which also stars Peggy Lipton, Paulina Porizkova and Joan Rivers, is a comedy that follows a naive intern as she learns to navigate the cutthroat fashion world.

Other titles covered under the deal include the sexy thriller “The List,” starring Ryan O’Neal and Madchen Amick; the comedy “If Only You Knew,” starring Jonathon Schaech and Alison Eastwood; and “Prophet’s Game,” starring Dennis Hopper and Stephanie Zimbalist.
Pact is the second between York and Moonstone. York previously acquired the domestic DVD rights to Eric Bross’ “Restaurant,” starring Adrien Brody and Lauryn Hill.
Moonstone’s production credits include Alan Rudolph’s “Afterglow,” Robert Altman’s “Cookie’s Fortune” and Mike Figgis’ “Miss Julie.”
