IFP/West has tapped H.M. Coakley director of programming, and Julie La’Bassiere to the newly created post of film programmer.
Coakley — who has reigned as producer on three films and more than 50 musicvids and commercial spots — will be responsible for IFP/West’s educational programs as well as the programming department. His latest pic, “Restaurant,” starring Adrien Brody and thrush Lauryn Hill, bowed earlier this year.
“We are thrilled to have an experienced independent producer heading our department,” said IFP/West executive director Dawn Hudson. “H.M. brings a lot to the table and will strengthen IFP/West’s extensive programming slate.”
La’Bassiere will program all of the org’s screening series. She most recently served as publicity coordinator for the WGA, specializing in independent film and special events.
