IFP unveils producer panels

Budgeting, casting, financing, marketing all covered in series

“Chuck & Buck” producer Matthew Greenfield and director Miguel Arteta will be key participants in the Independent Feature Project/West’s 10th annual Independent Producer Series, to be held Oct. 11-Nov. 15.

Series, which will run for six consecutive Wednesday evenings, will include a one-night discussion led by Greenfield and Arteta on producer-director relationships.

Other panels will include “Budgeting Line by Line,” “The Casting Name Game,” “Producing the Script,” “Financing the Niche Film” and “Marketing and Distribution.”

“The series will definitely help upcoming producers learn tips of the trade from the pros,” said Diana Zahn-Storey, producer of the series.

Confirmed panelists include Betsy Beers, prexy of production, Mutual Film Co.; Tom Bernard, co-prexy, Sony Pictures Classics; Bob Berney, prexy, Inwood Films; Eamonn Bowles, prexy, the Shooting Gallery; Marcus Hu, co-prexy, Strand Releasing; Michael Jenkinson, CEO, Urban Media.Com; Cami Winikoff, chief operating officer, Trimark Pictures; screenwriter John August; producer Anthony Bregman; writer-director Bill Condon; casting director Mali Finn; producer Laura Greenlee; writer-director Gregg Harrison; producer Dan Jinks; Gregory Laemmle, Laemmle Theaters; line producer Tom Tucker; and thesps Illeana Douglas, Jon Favreau and Bill Pullman.

Passes are $195 for IFP/West members, $250 for the public. Tickets for a single evening are $35 for IFP/West members, $50 for the public.
