NEW YORK — Robert Greenwald has optioned Diana Son’s play “Stop Kiss” for a feature film that he will direct and produce.
“Stop Kiss,” the story of two women whose friendship turns into a love affair, attracted the attention of several film actresses when it first opened Off Broadway in November 1998.
Son’s earlier play, “Boy,” had its world premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse in 1996.
Greenwald recently directed and produced the Lions Gate-distributed “Steal This Movie,” about 1960s activist Abbie Hoffman, played by Vincent D’Onofrio. Robert Greenwald Prods.’ most recent project was “The Audrey Hepburn Story” on ABC.
Son is repped by ICM’s Mike Eisner in Beverly Hills and Sarah Jane Leigh in New York.
