SAN SEBASTIAN — Alex de la Iglesia’s “Common Wealth,” a blacker-than-black comedy about neighbors from hell, has kick-started sales at the 48th San Sebastian Intl. Film Festival, as Film Export has picked up the movie for Italy.
Buzz at the fest was that the film sold to Italy for a mid-six figures.
Produced by Andres Vicente Gomez’s Lolafilms, the Spanish-lingo pic opened the competition at San Sebastian last Thursday. It garnered ecstatic reviews from some local scribes as well as positive audience response.
