The American Cinema Foundation’s third E Pluribus Unum Awards luncheon, held Thursday at the Beverly Hills Hotel, honored four film and TV productions for addressing and promoting positive social values.
Tony Danza emceed the event, which honored TV shows “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “JAG,” the telepic “P.T. Barnum” and film “October Sky.”
“We try to look at work that celebrates what is best about American life,” said foundation chairman Lionel Chetwynd.
Producer and writer Frank Price, who’s served as chairman of Columbia Pictures, chairman of the MCA Motion Picture Group and prexy of Universal Pictures, was honored with the Carl Foreman Prize, named in honor of the former writer-producer.
Actor Cuba Gooding Jr. presented the award to Price.
