Cowboy Booking Intl. and Antidote Films are getting hitched under the new moniker Code Red, which will acquire and release up to 10 pics per year.
Cowboy will release the pics, which will include an array of new and classic international films, particularly major festival prize-winners and major American indies.
Cowboy co-prexies Noah Cowan and John Vanco and Antidote’s prexy Jeffrey Levey-Hinte announced the merger at Cannes.
The first pickup for Code Red is David Gordon Green’s “George Washington,” which preemed at the Berlin Fest and was nabbed at Cannes. Written and helmed by Green, and produced by Sacha Mueller and Lisa Muskat, pic portrays a group of kids in a poor rural Southern town. It’s slated for a fall release.
