Col TriStar joins ‘Order’

Buys rights to Van Damme starrer

CANNES — Continuing to be an active presence here, Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group has closed a deal with Avi Lerner’s Millennium Films for various overseas territory rights to the Jean-Claude Van Damme starrer “The Order.”

Helmed by Sheldon Lettich (“Double Impact”) pic was produced by Boaz Davidson and Danny Lerner.

Story centers on an FBI agent who enters a world of intrigue when he is sent to Israel to retrieve two men who have confessed to killing his security guard father during a museum heist.

CTMPG will handle the pic in the U.K, Benelux, Latin America, Portugal, France, Australia and Scandinavia. No U.S. distributor is yet on board.

Deal was brokered by CPMPG’s co-execuitve veeps Clint Culpepper and Peter Schlessel.
