Connie Britton (“Spin City”) and Chris Eigeman (“It’s Like, You Know …”) will star in Double A Films’ (“Hamlet”) romantic comedy “The Next Big Thing.”
Joel and P.J. Posner penned the satire of New York’s art world, which the latter will also helm. Double A Films’ Amy Hobby and Andrew Fierberg will produce.
Britton, known for her role as Nikki on the ABC’s “Spin City,” previously appeared opposite Ed Burns in “No Looking Back” and “The Brothers McMullen.” Eigeman has appeared in all three of Whit Stillman’s films: “The Last Days of Disco,” “Barcelona” and “Metropolitan.” His other credits include “Mr. Jealousy,” “High Ball” and “Kicking and Screaming.”
Double A Films, co-founded by Amy Hobby and Andrew Fierber, recently completed “Hamlet,” starring Ethan Hawke, Sam Shepard and Bill Murray. Pic will be released in May by Miramax. Double A’s other producing credits include “Pushing Tin,” starring John Cusack and Billy Bob Thornton, and Trimark’s “The Eternal” with Christopher Walken.
Britton and Eigeman were repped by Innovative Artists.
