BBC vet in West-helmed pic of videogame
Daniel Craig has landed the male lead opposite Angelina Jolie in “Tomb Raider,” the Simon West-directed live-action Paramount film based on the videogame.
Craig is a British actor who has appeared in such films as “Elizabeth” and “I Dreamed of Africa,” but is better known for his work on the British stage and for BBC Television. “Tomb Raider,” produced by Lawrence Gordon and Lloyd Levin, brings to life the top-selling videogame centered around Lara Croft, a sexy publishing magnate who travels to exotic locations to uncover and preserve ancient artifacts, facing danger and adventure on the order of Indiana Jones. Craig is repped by William Morris in the U.S., and by Sally Long-Innes of ICM in London.
