Art directors give Eastwood Imagery Award

Thesp/helmer to be honored at ADG awards Feb. 24

The executive board of the Art Directors Guild has tapped Clint Eastwood to receive its Contribution to Cinematic Imagery Award.

The honor is given occasionally to an individual whose body of work has enhanced the visual aspects of the moviegoing experience. Past recipients are Robert Wise, Blake Edwards and Norman Jewison.

Eastwood will be honored at the ADG’s Fifth Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards on Feb. 24 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Since 1955, Eastwood has starred in 43 films, appeared in 54, directed 22 and produced 17. He has taken on all three duties in 11 films. In 1993, his “Unforgiven” received nine Academy Award nominations and won four Oscars, including best picture and director.
