Acad to screen Oscar shorts

Winners 'Old Man,' 'Mother' topline 10-pic event

This year’s 10 Oscar-nominated live-action and animated shorts will unspool April 14 at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in Beverly Hills.

Animated films, including Acad winner “The Old Man and the Sea,” kick off the “Shorts!” presentation at 7:30 p.m.

Live-action pics, headlined by Oscar top dog “My Mother Dreams the Satan’s Disciples in New York,” will follow.

The evening’s lineup also includes “Humdrum,” “My Grandmother Ironed the King’s Shirts,” “3 Misses,” “When the Day Breaks,” “Bror, Min Bror,” “Killing Joe,” “Kleingeld (Small Change)” and “Major and Minor Miracles.”
