Spike and Mike will do Cannes.
After recent successful runs at Sundance and Austin’s South by Southwest festival, Mellow Manor Prods., the purveyors of the “Spike and Mike Festival of Animation,” will unspool a variety of shorts next month during the Cannes Film Festival.
“It’s time for the chickens to come home to roost,” Craig “Spike” Decker told Daily Variety. “We have been pioneers for many years, and finally credit is being cast where it is long overdue.”
The collection — which is being heralded as a combo of the “Classic” and “Sick and Twisted” fests — will screen May 16 as part of the “Shortest Night,” an evening of short films during International Critics Week.
Among the cutting-edge films are German pic “Balance,” French pic “At the Ends of the Earth,” and U.S. shorts “Bunny” and “Empty Roll.”
