HELSINKI — The Oscar winners continue to perform strongly at the Finnish box office. “American Beauty” alone has chalked up more than 200,000 admissions to date.
And even kudoless pics such as “The Beach,” survived hostile critical reaction to lure a respectable 18,000 moviegoers last weekend.
The strongest performer, however, is a local film, “Levottomat” (The Restless), directed by Aku Louhimies. Two months after its release, this promiscuity-fueled drama set among thirtysomethings is still leading the Finnish B.O. charts with 250,000 admissions to date.
