Some of those associated with Scour.com are distancing themselves from the search engine that locates audio and video files online, after the MPAA, RIAA and NMPA announced a lawsuit against the Beverly Hills-based company last week.CheckOut.com CEO Richard Wolpert, who became an investor with Ovitz in Scour last year, stressed Friday that he resigned from the dot-com’s board in January but that he continues to sit on the boards of CheckOut, GameSpy Industries, Broadcast Vision and Encode This. Michael Ovitz also said he is not a board member. “This announcement is to clear up any misconceptions about my involvement in Scour.com,” Wolpert said in a statement. “I am not a member of the board and have not been for quite some time.”
