Wild Things Prods. has signed with AMG Animation, which will assist in the development of children’s projects in film, TV and new media. Wild Things toppers include former Orion and Columbia Pictures exec John Carls and “Where the Wild Things Are” author Maurice Sendak.
Company has a number of film projects in the works, including a “Wild Things” movie, which Tom Hanks is co-producing at Universal, and “Harold and the Purple Crayon” at Sony. Carls is developing “The Light Princess” at 20th Century Fox and “Flat Stanley” at Working Title Films and Universal.
“Because of its library of enormously popular children’s books, Wild Things Prods. has become one of the leading providers of wholesome, quality family entertainment,” said AMG’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein. “Wild Things has an exhilarating opportunity to provide new excitement to a growing children’s market.”
Wild Things Prods. was founded in 1992 to provide family entertainment for film and television.
AMG Animation reps over 200 animators, writers, producers and directors, including the creators of “Rugrats” and producers of “Daria,” “Angry Beaver” and “Futurama.”
