Gwen Whitson on Thursday was tapped senior veep of business and legal affairs for Warner Bros. Online and Entertaindom.com.
Whitson’s job is a newly created position, according to Kevin Tsujihara, executive veep of new media at Warner Bros. She will be responsible for the drafting and negotiation of all programming, acquisition and licensing agreements as well as for e-commerce deals.
“Gwen’s remarkable breadth of experience, far-ranging legal knowledge and passion for the Internet and the entertainment industry are invaluable to our team,” Tsujihara said. “With more than a decade of studio experience, she has a unique perspective and ability to help lead Warner Bros. into the exciting future ahead for online entertainment.”
Whitson most recently served as senior veep and deputy general counsel in worldwide legal affairs for Warner Bros. Previous to that she was senior veep and general counsel for Warner Bros. Intl. Television Distribution. She has been with the company since 1989 and before she joined Warner Bros., Whitson was an attorney with O’Melveny and Myers.
