MIAMI — Turner Broadcasting System has inked two separate deals for its Spanish- and Portuguese-lingo Web sites with portals UOL and AOL Latam.
Turner has formed a three-year alliance with UOL, which is backed by Brazilian media groups Abril and Folha. UOL has in-country portals in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, the U.S. and Venezuela, plus a pan-regional Spanish-lingo portal.
UOL will receive select international news from CNNenEspanol.com and CNNBrasil.com, and UOL will provide original local news stories to the two sites.
Turner will also supply UOL with children’s animation and games.Separately, Turner has a content-distribution deal with AOL Latam, a joint venture formed by AOL and Venezuela’s Cisneros Group.
