Marketing, promotions staff to increase
Trimark Pictures has named Tom DeLuca as director of its Internet operations as the producer and distributor increases its Web efforts.
Trimark also said Wednesday that by the end of April, it plans to boost its staff to focus on marketing, promotions and e-commerce and distribution of its pics over the ‘Net.
DeLuca will help shape the future of Trimarkpictures.com and the company’s other online efforts (including Netcasting spinoff Cinemanow.com), and play a key role in business development, formation of strategic alliances with other dot-coms and strengthening Trimark’s marketing efforts in cyberspace.
He will report directly to Peter Block, Trimark’s executive veep.
DeLuca joined Trimark as a consultant last year and over the past six months has overseen the redesign of Trimark’s corporate Web site and has inked pacts with Yahoo!, LoadTV and Multicities.com, as well as help launch Cinemanow, to show the company’s library of 650 pics and other licensed titles online.
“Trimark has made a substantial commitment to making its presence felt on the Internet,” Block said. “Tom has a strong background in entertainment, Internet development and making solid e-business contacts.”
Before joining Trimark, DeLuca was the founder of Independentfilms.com. He also spent a year with Boston.com, the official site for the Boston Globe.
Trimark made its first leap onto the Web last year, inking a distrib deal with Broadcast.com to show its library of pics online.
