MEXICO CITY — Televisa is broadcasting an interactive radionovela across Mexico, Central America and parts of the U.S.
“La Herencia” (“The Inheritance”) began transmission Monday, marking a throwback to a genre that once saw great success for the Mexican web.
It will star one of Mexico’s most popular actors, Pedro Armendariz, as 85-year-old Don Sebastian, whose will consists of a series of clues to the whereabouts of his hidden wealth.
Auds to stations in Televisa’s Radiopolis chain can also send in their guesses about the location of the cash with the top winners receiving a prize worth $150,000.
The novela marks the 70th anniversary of XEW, Televisa’s first radio station and is being promoted with a major advertising campaign.
