Sony Music Entertainment has invested $3 million in debt financing in, in exchange for 10.7% of the online entertainment venture. Additionally, a marketing deal between the two companies calls for eUniverse and its collection of Web sites to drive traffic to SME’s own sites, including and, both part of Sony’s new technology and business development arena. EUniverse launched a similar campaign in mid-July, which generated more than 1.5 million new registered users for the two sites. EUniverse attracts 14 million monthly visitors, according to Media Metrix.
