Shockwave.com bows Burton’s ‘Boy’

Cyberbiz Brief

Shockwave.com will bow the first of its celeb-created Web series Tuesday with the launch of Tim Burton’s “Stainboy.” Character, an ineffectual but diligent superhero whose talent is leaving stains, is from Burton’s book “The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories.” The first six Webisodes, skedded to bow every two weeks, were animated by Flinch Studio; the accompanying music was done by longtime Burton collaborator Danny Elfman. Netizens will be able to play Stainboy games, collect trading cards and e-mail postcards from the site. Other celebs to bow their content on Shockwave in the coming months include “South Park’s” Matt Stone and Trey Parker, David Lynch and James L. Brooks.
