Pearson expands online with Uproar

Gameshow co. also tabs Frot-Coutaz digital-media VP

LONDON — Pearson TV has made two moves to get more of its gameshows online: it has tapped Cecile Frot-Coutaz exec VP for digital media in North America, and is expanding its exclusive contract with online game portal Uproar.

Frot-Coutaz, who ankles her post as Pearson TV’s chief exec of production for southern Europe, will oversee online handling of Pearson gameshow formats for the company’s off-screen development and licensing arm Pearson TV Enterprises.

Setting up a new office in San Francisco, she will also act as PTE’s exec for business development on the West Coast, liaising with other media companies to create possible joint ventures.

Uproar, the New York-based interactive Netcaster, has 8.3 million users and reaches 7.6% of the online audience.

Meanwhile, Pearson TV has also tapped Pauline Bohm senior VP, international marketing. Previously VP, worldwide marketing for the company, Bohm will be based in L.A., and continue to be responsible for developing international marketing campaigns.
