Peace Arch sets funding for slate

C$7.9 mil for to distribute TV, Net programming

VANCOUVER — New financing arrangements totaling C$7.9 million ($5.3 million) are now in place to help fund Peace Arch Entertainment’s record production slate for 2000-01.

Investors in the oversubscribed subordinated debenture financing for Vancouver-based Peace Arch include the Business Development Bank of Canada, linked to the federal government; the Working Opportunity Fund, set up by the British Columbia provincial government; and Mercantile Bancorp.

Peace Arch produces and distributes TV and Internet programming for international markets. It is now in the third season of the 66-episode sci-fi series “First Wave” and in the first season of 22 episodes of both sci-fi skein “The Immortal” and laffer “Big Sound.”
