ShowRunner puts H'w'd online

NeTune Communications announced Monday it has developed ShowRunner, a technology that instantly enables the delivery of filmed dailies, graphics, CGI images, edited sequences, text data and video conferencing via satellite and the Web to filmmakers and production companies.

Company has pacted with Creative Artists Agency, DirecTV (which is providing satellite services and is housing the operation in its Los Angeles offices), PanAmSat, IBM and Lucent Technologies to invest in, create the technology for and promote the service to Hollywood.

“We are always looking to improve the creative experience of our clients,” said Richard Lovett, prexy of CAA. “We are confident this technology will be embraced by the entertainment community and are excited to showcase this to our filmmakers.”

Testing will take place during the next six months, with services initially to be provided on one or more pics produced by Fox, among other studios. Rollout is expected before the end of the year.
