MPAA invests in Dow

Tech exec named as counsel for film org

HOLLYWOOD — Troy D. Dow has been named to the position of counsel, technology and new media, of the Motion Picture Assn. of America.

“His expertise on copyright matters combined with his vast knowledge of the digital world will be an asset to the association and to our member companies,” said Jack Valenti, president and CEO of the MPAA.

Dow had been the majority counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary and also worked for the law firms of Brown & Bain and Irella & Manella. He has also worked for Sen. Orrin G. Hatch of Utah in his Washington, D.C., and state offices.
