Cuthbertson fills new post

Internet music venture MCY.com has tapped Paul Cuthbertson chief operating officer, a newly created post.

Cuthbertson will be responsible for the company’s daily operations, which include activities at MCY Prods. as well as content licensing and acquisition, digital services, sales, marketing and finance.

He will report to chairman and CEO Bernhard Fritsch.

Besides owning a library of digital music files, MCY also hosts pay-per-view Webcasts of events featuring music acts including the Backstreet Boys, Puff Daddy, Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, ‘N Sync and Pete Townshend, among others.

“Paul’s diverse operational experience combined with his expertise in finance and information technology will be extremely valuable to us as MCY graduates from startup status,” Fritsch said. “He is a hands-on executive, and with him on our team handling the day-to-day demands of our operations, I will be free to devote 100% of my time and attention to the strategic expansion of MCY.”

Most recently, Cuthbertson was chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Internet production and branding shop Frankfurt Balkind Partners. Before that, he held the same posts at the Solomon Group, which is owned by Mariel Hemingway, Steve Crisman and Eric Crisman.
