Sony Pictures Family Entertainment has tapped Akiko Kumagai-Kuo director of Internet strategy and marketing.
Kumagai-Kuo, who will report to SPFE prexy Sander Schwartz, will be responsible for finalizing and implementing the company’s Internet strategy to establish its presence in the lucrative online kids market.
She also coordinate marketing opportunities on the Web to increase the exposure of SPFE’s roster. Over the past three years, Kumagai-Kuo has worked for Sony Pictures in business development and strategic planning. She assisted in the launches of Family Entertainment Group and the Animax Channel in Japan.
SPFE, founded last year, produces traditional cel animation, CGI and live-action properties for television and theatrical distribution.
Division produces animated series “Men in Black,” “Jumanji” and “Extreme Ghostbusters.”
