InternetStudios.com has acquired ItsTV.com, an Internet marketing and sales company for the television programming biz, for an undisclosed amount of cash and stock.
Deal fits in well with InternetStudios’ other online-based sales operation, OnlineFilmSales.com, that until now has mostly tracked the sales and acquisitions of film rights.
InternetStudios wants to expand its offerings to build a business around tracking and distributing entertainment industry data on the ‘Net. It also operates ReporterTV.com and StudioBuzz.com.
Allan McKeown and Nick Witkowski launched ItsTV.com last year and created dot-com as an information, marketing and sales company to service buyers and sellers of TV programs worldwide.
ItsTV.com provides the ability to purchase TV properties directly via the ‘Net as well as marketing opportunities for sellers.
Catalogs from more than 50 distribs (BBC, Carlton, Chrysalis, King World, E!, among others) are available on site.
ItsTV.com is expected to change its name soon as the company merges with InternetStudios.com.
Witkowski will oversee operations of the site from London and will report to InternetStudios’ board of directors. The Los Angeles office will be run by Ann Plageman.
“Allan and Nick have a keen understanding of the global TV marketplace and have brought a great deal of expertise to ItsTV.com,” said Heidi Lester, CEO and co-founder of InternetStudios.com.
McKeown most recently produced Tracey Ullman’s “Tracey Takes On” series for HBO and has been an Internet investor since he sold SelecTV to Pearson for $60 million. Witkowski worked with McKeown at SelecTV.
“InternetStudios.com will take our business to the next level, improving our abilities to service the needs of the TV buyer and program sellers,” McKeown said.
