Film distrib taps Johnson new COO

HOLLYWOOD — Online film distributor Indie-Underground.com this week announced a slate of new execs from traditional and new media to lead the company.

Richard E. Johnson, co-producer of last year’s “The Opportunists” (starring Christopher Walken and Cyndi Lauper), was tapped chief operating officer and exec veep for the Web site. Johnson founded Spirit Inc., where he produced “Ambition” and “Frankenstein: The College Years,” a film for Fox.

Gabrielle Kelly will head Indie-Underground.com’s Los Angeles office as director of acquisitions. Kelly is a member of the board of directors for the British Academy of Film and Television and previously was veep of development and production for Sidney Lumet and Jay Presson Allen.

Nathaniel Brochin will serve in an advisory capacity to the company.Brochin is prexy and chief operating officer of SAVOS, a wireless technology startup.

Alessandro Isidoro has been named to Indie-Underground.com’s board of directors. Previously Isidoro was chief technical officer of Changemusic.com and virtual sports site SmallWorld.com.
